The Humanoid and Cognitive Robotics Lab (HCR) at the Department of Automatics, Biocybernetics and Robotics, Jožef Stefan Institute, focuses on the development of new technologies for robotic systems that can operate in natural environments and in collaboration with people. This is only possible with robots that can continuously and autonomously acquire new sensorimotor behaviors and higher-level knowledge. Humanoid robots are due to their similarity to humans especially suitable for operation in environments shared with people.
In the last years we are effectively researching and applying our findings in robot programming, robot learning and human-robot collaboration for novel industrial use and applications based on reconfigurable robots. The work is propelled in the scope of large collaborative research and innovation and innovation projects at the national and international levels.
